How It Works
We offer free 25-minute outdoor photo sessions for families, couples, individuals, and pets in Southern Utah. Our clients get beautiful, affordable photos, and you get paid to fill in your empty spaces and grow your portfolio. It’s a win-win.
Here’s the scoop: We handle the marketing, booking, and logistics. You choose the sessions you want to shoot. After the shoot, edit and upload at least 30 great shots—we’ll take care of the rest (galleries, payments, client chats, all of it).
You’ll earn a guaranteed minimum of $40 per session (25 mins), or 50% of the photo sales—whichever’s higher. Sessions are usually on weekends/evenings, and you pick what works for you. Payouts land within about three weeks.
Minimum Requirements
Portfolio & Gear
An online portfolio, or a set of online galleries, showcasing your work with families, couples, individuals, pets (optional), and children, is required.
A pro-level full-frame DSLR or mirrorless digital camera. (No phones, film, or crop sensor cameras.)
Lenses like 70–200mm f/2.8, 24–70mm f/2.8, or 35mm f/1.4 are preferred.
Photography Know-how
Proficiency in camera fundamentals such as aperture, ISO, and shutter speed across different portrait subjects and lighting conditions.
Comfortable posing a variety of clients, including those of all ages and genders, and groups large and small.
Experience with natural light portraiture.
People Skills
Friendly, calm, and clear when giving direction.
Able to create relaxed, easygoing sessions.
Can roll with the punches (rain, kids, etc.).
Other Requirements
Responsive to emails/messages.
On time, professional, consistent.
Reliable transport & fast internet.
At least 18 years old.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a full-time position?
Nope! You pick and choose which sessions to claim. Most happen on evenings and weekends, and you can do as few or as many as you’d like.
Am I allowed to market my personal photography business during the shoot?
No direct marketing allowed during sessions—but if someone asks about hiring you for a wedding, studio shoot, or other non-Photo Fox work, you're free to say yes.
Can I use the photos I take during these sessions on my own portfolio/website?
Yes, as long as the gallery isn’t private, you can display the photos on your portfolio and website. You can’t sell or repurpose the images outside of your own promo use, though.
What kinds of sessions would I be shooting?
We do it all—families, couples, kids, pets, engagements, dating profile pics, and more. But we keep things simple: no weddings, no commercial shoots, and no big events. Just relaxed outdoor portraits, one session at a time.
How long do each of the sessions last?
They are 25‑minute portrait sessions—and they’re often scheduled back-to-back, so you’ll want to stay on schedule.
How many images do I need to deliver?
At least 30 high-quality, lightly edited photos per session—delivered within 5 days. More photos = more potential purchases = bigger commission for you.
How much will I be paid?
You’ll earn $40 for each 25-minute portrait session—or 50% of any gallery sales from that shoot, whichever is higher. If your client doesn’t buy anything, you still earn $40. If they buy $200 in images, you earn $100.
That works out to $80+ per hour just from shoot time alone. For example: 10 hours of sessions per week could bring in $3,200+ per month. You shoot, we handle the rest—including marketing, sales, and payouts.
When do I get paid?
About 3 weeks after the session. That gives you time to upload, and gives clients time to place orders so we can calculate your commission.
Can I still do freelance or other photography work?
Totally! We’re flexible. As long as you’re not promoting competing services during our sessions, you’re free to book other gigs and do your own thing outside of our sessions.
Why not just find my own clients?
You absolutely can! But many photographers love working with us because we bring the clients, do the marketing, handle logistics, and deal with post-session communication. You focus on shooting—we handle the rest.
